You are formally invited to attend Australia’s largest Seaplane Splash-In! The Catalina Foundation in conjunction with the Seaplane Pilots Association -Australia (SPAA) will be holding the Catalina Festival on the 5 November 2011 at Rathmines, Lake Macquarie. This year will be the third annual Catalina Festival and Splash-In, held to raise money to bring VH-CAT, the Foundations Catalina, back into the air. There will be plenty of entertainment on the ground, plus aerial activity, including joy-flights in various aircraft.

Flying Competition:

As part of the Splash-In, a flying competition will be held, with practice forced landing, spot landing and mooring accuracy being judged with prizes for the winners. Phil Dulhunty will provide his C-180 and Sydney Seaplanes will have a DHC-2 Beaver available for use for the competition (there will be a currency requirement for aircraft hire - please contact me for details) There will also be prizes for best presented aircraft. Entry for the competition will be $25 and all money will go to the Catalina foundation.

For those of you flying in, AvGas will be available for purchase - provided by Skyfuel. A secure area will be set up overnight for those of you who don’t live in the local area and need to stay – contact us about accommodation.

If you plan on attending please reply with some details so that we can make sure we have enough fuel/space for you and your aircraft.
